Location: Bronx, NY 10451
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Shift: Nights – 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM (Rotating weekends and holidays may apply)
Hours per Week: 40
Hours per Day: 8

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Clinical Lab Technologist with Blood Bank experience for a 13-week contract assignment in a fast-paced acute care setting. The ideal candidate will bring at least one year of recent experience in transfusion services and strong technical knowledge in blood banking procedures and safety protocols.

• Perform routine and complex testing in the Blood Bank, including blood typing, crossmatching, and antibody identification
• Maintain accurate documentation of results and procedures
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain lab instrumentation
• Ensure compliance with quality control and safety standards
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to support patient care
• Participate in shift hand-offs and maintain clear communication across teams
• Adhere to all applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.

• Proficiency in immunohematology and transfusion services
• Experience with automated and manual testing procedures
• Familiarity with lab instrumentation and analyzers (e.g., centrifuges, incubators, blood bank refrigerators)
• Strong understanding of blood compatibility, component preparation, and antibody panels
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure
• Effective communication with clinical teams and other lab staff

License:

• Valid Clinical Laboratory Technologist License issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) – Primary Source Verification required

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred)

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Clinical Lab Technologist in a Blood Bank or transfusion services environment
