Overview:
The Major Gifts and Capital Campaign Manager is responsible for managing The Children’s Inn at NIH’s Building Extraordinary capital campaign, in close partnership with the Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer, as well as strategically building relationships with a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects. The Major Gifts and Capital Campaign Manager reports to the Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Facilitate campaign outreach for the Development team, especially the CEO and Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer.
· Staff and provide administrative support to the Capital Campaign Committee and collaborate with committee leadership to ensure coordination of activities including minutes, notices, support materials, and follow-up tasks.
· Manage a 75-100-person portfolio of donors and prospects, responsible for advancing relationships on behalf of the organization, and for carrying out cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities with a focus on securing annual and major gifts (including campaign gifts).
· Coordinate with the CEO, Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer, Director of Leadership and Legacy Giving and other staff and volunteer leadership in developing and executing donor and prospect strategies, including the development of proposals.
· Work with the event team to plan and implement major donor and campaign related events, meetings, and recognition activities.
· Manage scheduling and logistics for major gifts and campaign donor visits.
· Responsible for overseeing the Capital Campaign Naming Tracker and alignment with campaign signage and donor hall installation.
· Maintain a campaign calendar to monitor progress towards milestones and coordinate activity.
· Collaborate with the Communications team on campaign collateral, case statements, and donor recognition materials as needed. Produce campaign progress reports, donor updates, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
· Record and update donor interactions in the database of record (Salesforce), including actions and notes, proposals, and other pertinent information, in a timeline manner.
· Coordinate and support major gifts and campaign prospect research alongside the Director of Development Operations.
· Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
Four years of development experience including major gifts and preferably capital campaigns.
Skills/Traits:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to respond to inquiries promptly and appropriately.
Experience coordinating and working with volunteer leadership.
Must have excellent computer skills, preferably knowledge of Salesforce and reporting systems.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as on a team.
Ability to produce accurate work and maintain close attention to detail.
Must be able to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly
Schedule:
Official schedule is Monday through Friday; however, the Major Gifts and Campaign Manager must be willing to participate in occasional evening and weekend fundraising and public relations activities.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hiring Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000
