Director of Tulane Law School Criminal Justice Clinic Join to apply for the Director of Tulane Law School Criminal Justice Clinic role at Tulane University Position Overview TULANE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW seeks highly qualified applicants for a full-time clinical faculty position leading its Criminal Justice Clinic. The position would preferably begin in January 2026 and is on the Law School's Clinical Professor faculty track, starting as a Clinical Professor of Law or a Clinical Associate Professor of Law, based on experience. The initial appointment lasts five years. Clinical faculty have voting rights as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and serve on faculty committees. Responsibilities Lead the Criminal Justice Clinic, including case selection, litigation, and advocacy. Supervise students in all aspects of clinic work. Teach a related seminar. Manage development activities supporting the clinic. About the Criminal Justice Clinic The clinic's core mission is to provide rich learning opportunities for students, helping them develop concrete lawyering skills through criminal defense practice, including investigation, pre-trial work, trial, appeal, post-conviction, and federal habeas cases. It partners with the Domestic Violence Clinic on the Women’s Prison Project, involving cases and students in both programs. Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with a strong academic record. Experience in criminal defense and post-conviction work. Licensed or eligible for licensure in Louisiana within six months. At least 5 years of post-J.D. legal experience. Proven or demonstrated potential for successful teaching and professional engagement. Preference for candidates with experience supervising law students or attorneys in criminal defense, or relevant experience with the Women’s Prison Project.
