Director of Finance (CONTRACT) You are a mission-driven finance leader with deep nonprofit experience. You bring strong GAAP knowledge, audit readiness, and a collaborative leadership style. You’re ready to step into a transitioning finance department, stabilize systems, and support long-term sustainability in a values-driven environment. This Position Pays $55-65/hour DOE (Temp-to-Hire preferred) Target salary range upon hire: $115,000 – $135,000/year What You Will Be Doing Advising leadership on financial planning, investment priorities, and forecasting Developing and supporting long-term financial sustainability models Preparing monthly and annual financial reports for leadership and the board Overseeing the annual budget process and ensuring alignment with strategic goals Managing annual audit preparation and serving as liaison to external auditors Ensuring internal controls, financial policies, and procedures are effective and up to date Supporting grant reporting, compliance, and invoicing in coordination with program and development teams Supervising all accounting functions, including AP/AR, bookkeeping, and cash management What you bring: Minimum 5 years of nonprofit finance and operations experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards Familiarity with restricted and unrestricted revenue streams Experience with audit coordination and financial reporting to funders Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office General understanding of payroll and tax regulations (e.g., ADP) Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to train and support team members and collaborate across departments For over 50 years, Nelson Connects has empowered employers and job seekers to achieve their unique versions of success.
