Key responsibilities include:Ensure safe and effective use of oncology therapyCollaborating with nurses, oncologists, midlevel providers and other healthcare providers to optimize patient careManaging drug-drug interactionsDevelopment of treatment plansSupporting patients with education on their medications and chemotherapy treatment plansThe ideal candidate will have:A strong background in oncology pharmacyExcellent communication skillsA passion for improving patient outcomes PGY1 residency required. (PGY2 in oncology/ambulatory experience preferred) M-F - Days Overview Preferred QualificationsRole PurposeEvaluates and recommends appropriate drug therapy to achieve optimal cost-effective patient outcomes, by working directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients. Participates in the development, provision and evaluation of comprehensive pharmaceutical care and quality assurance programs through scholarly activities. Serves as a resource to the pharmacy staff and other hospital departments. ResponsibilitiesAssess the overall status of the patient's health condition and evaluates medication profile for optimal patient outcomes. Monitors therapy and goals of care.
