POSITION DETAILS Department: Spiritual Care
Location: US:PA:Lewisburg
Typical Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:45am-4:30pm, on-call as needed, rotating holidays
Primary Shift: Shift 1
Work Type: 1.0 FTE (full-time, 80 hours biweekly)

SUMMARY The Hospital Chaplain provides spiritual care to Evangelical Community Hospital patients, families, and staff, plus provides liaison and coordinates consultation with area clergy. The Hospital Chaplain performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Evangelical Community Hospital in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS 1. Bachelor's Degree required. Master of Divinity (or in related fields) and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required. At least 4 units of CPE.
2. Board Certified preferred or completed with Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) in the first three years of employment.
3. Required ordination, licensure, or commission by recognized denomination or faith group.
4. Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance, and an FBI criminal history check required.
5. Basic computer literacy skills to manipulate files and manage multiple windows. Work requires use of electronic charting records for pastoral services. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email required for data entry and record keeping.
6. Advanced interpersonal skills required to manage volunteers and communicate and comfort patients and families. A high level of social sensitivity and confidentiality required when communication with patients, families, and employees (more than 80% of work time).
